Alex Lieber-Alessie · general practice at 2203 Hardy St, Houston, since 1978.

Family legal matters are personal, and they still run on documents and dates. Alex Lieber-Alessie has practiced law since 1978 at 2203 Hardy St in Houston. Family law is one part of that general practice, with personal injury, real estate, probate, contract disputes, and criminal law.

People call about a divorce, a suit affecting children, a support order, a protective order, or a paper they were served and do not yet understand. You can start without knowing the name of the pleading. Say whether a case is already filed, whether children live with you, and whether you were handed papers or only expect them. If a hearing date is printed, read it at the start of the call.

Bring the papers you were served, any earlier orders, and a list of the children’s names and ages. If money is in dispute, bring recent pay information you already have and a note of the monthly bills that matter. If the family home is part of the disagreement, bring the address and any deed or mortgage statement. You do not need a perfect financial notebook for the first meeting. You need the documents that already exist.

If it is safe to do so, write a short history of the last few months: when you separated, when a child last changed households, and when any order was signed. If safety is a concern, say that when you call so the office knows before you walk in. You can have the conversation in English or in Spanish. If the other parent prefers the other language, say that too. Clear communication about the same order matters.

The office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, 9 AM to 1 PM. Sunday is closed. The address is 2203 Hardy St, Houston, TX 77026. Call (713) 224-4300. Walk-in inquiries are welcome during those hours. A scheduled visit is better when you are bringing orders and you want enough time to go through them.

Family cases often touch the rest of the practice. A house that must be sold is also a real estate question. A relative’s death in the middle of a divorce can raise probate. A criminal condition of bond can limit who may be in the home. Tell the office about those other papers. They change what the consultation needs to cover.

This page does not tell you how a judge will divide property, where a child will live, or what support will be. Those decisions depend on the orders already in the file and on facts this website does not have. The consultation is where those facts are laid out. The page only tells you how to reach the office and what to carry.

What you read here is general information, not legal advice for your family. Contacting the office does not create an attorney-client relationship. When you are ready to talk, call (713) 224-4300 and bring the most recent order, or the papers you were just served.
